Effect of withdrawal of gunboats on telegraphic communication with Chungking.
Refers to Foreign Office telegram No.1208 (F 12486/3918/10). Owing to wireless telegraph silence imposed on all His Majesty's Ships in the Far East since outbreak of war naval wireless has not been used for telegraphic communication with Chungking for over three months. Form of service by commercial cable companies has proved adequate.
