Two men of 6th Rajputana Rifles deserted October
1st and it is practically certain crossed border to
Japanese who sent them away by lorry on October 3rd
probably to Canton.
Representations have been made to Japanese for
their return. Both men young illiterate niazi pathans
with particular grievances, 6th Rajputana Rifles
discipline good and no signs disaffection there or in
other Indian units in this command.
