Suspected operation of wireless transmitter by Chinese warship in Hong Kong Harbar.
Enclose copy of letter of 8th June to Colonial Office expressing view that temporary immobilisation cannot affect position of these vessels and that if they were formerly accorded status of warships they should continue to be treated as such.. If this view is correct no municipal enactment could properly be invoked against the "Wingfook". Admiralty are however of opinion that an attempt should be made to bring to an end use of wireless transmitting apparatus and suggest that sanction for enforcing such a prohibition could be threat of a request to leave.
