Enclose copy of telegram No. 130 from Hong Kong stating that Consul-General Canton approached the Japanese Consul-General semi-officially and has been informed that Japanese authorities are unwilling to agree to release, and enquiring whether there is any objection to requesting Ambassador at Tokyo to press the point and copy of telegram No. 81 to Hong Kong stating that there is no objection to approach to Ambassador at Tokyo.
