Dropping of bomb near s. s "Chaksang" belonging to Jardine, Matheson and Company.
Copy telegram from NLO Shanghai (1630/20) reporting circumstances in which bomb was dropped near s. s Chaksang" by Japanese seaplane while vessel Matter is was on passage from Tsingtao to Shanghai. being taken up with Japanese naval authrorities at Shanghai.

with the whole ocean in which 15 drop his comb it is curious that the Japse pilot should do so within 500 feet of the Chaksang. But it is probably another example of Japse lack of imagination at the effect o the other person of a bomb being dropped so near. It will be interesting & see what reps the Japse
make.

The Adver have not heard anything further about this. It will probably be
reported in the periodical Report of Roceedings and if our people in China do not raise the matter we need not perhaps do so.
