Transmits copy of telegram from General Officer Commanding Hong Kong No.6192 of 14th December referring to Military Attaché's telegram No.194 (F 12791/2655/10). No decision has been taken to ask Suzuki to leave Hong Kong and this will not be done without instructions. Points out however that Suzuki is not a normal replacement but purely an intelligence officer. His appointment is equivalent to sending a British Senior intelligenteofficer to a Japanese fortress in time of war. Draws attention to danger of local espionage.
