The Society dates from many years back,
and was formed by corrupt circles drawn mainly from the
old Peiyang political party in the North (tifik). 北洋派.
The Tuan Szetsun referred to is, I
understand, most probably Tuan Cheng-yuan (
暖正元
who is still alive and is a quite influential man
in Peking where he has for years past preached sham
religion and associated with the reactionary and
militarist elements.
In brief, the whole thing smacks of
Nippon, and I suggest we ignore it.
