Japanese request for measures to be taken in view of hostilities on Kwangtung coast.
Refers to Tokyo telegram No. 635 of 22nd June, 1939, (F 6311/1870/10). Transmits copy letter No.13 identic of 21st June, 1939, from the Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs stating that purely military operations to sweep away enemy troops are being undertaken on Kwantung coast. Special care will be taken to avoid damaging rights and interests of third countries and the Army hope that His Majesty's Government and authorities in China will co-operate to prevent accidental damage to British rights and interests.
