Para. 1. Chinese troops operating against Japanese in the
vicinity of border have now withdrawn, but attacks may be repeated
in future as several thousand Chinese regular troops are known
to be concentrated in the vicinity of Waichow.
Para. 2. British Officers visited Japanese battalion
headquarters at Shumchun on Monday and Wednesday and saw no sign
that they had been reinforced as in alloged by unconfirmed Chinese
reports.
Para. 3.
Japanese gave own killed as 15 and Chinese as
250 adding that the majority of the Chinese involved were regulars.
