2. I have not had time to give any consideration to the question whether the Service lands issue should be pursued on geographical papers, but my preliminary thought is that that would be the right course. As soon as the savingram has gone perhaps Mr. Skinner would be kind enough to discuss with Mr. Farran the question of transferring this subject to a geographical file. There are several papers which would have to be either transferred or copied to our file (and K.I.V. in this connection my minute of 20.vi.) and it would be a help to Mr. Farran, who is new to the Department, (particularly since Mr. Ashton is absent) if Defence Department could suggest what those papers should be.
