2. Despite the doubts as to the Commander's ability to cover evacuation the 1ste Governor indicated his anxiety that the existing evacuation plans (for 15,500 under DIGIT and for 10,000 plus the garrison under BITING) should be kept rendy and this is clearly a wise precaution in any event. Nevertheless it does seen to us now that the level of forces in the Colony is finally settled at 8 major units (two of them temporary) plus the temporary presence of a few jct fighters, that the time has come to have another look at the Comander's Eirective and in particular tɔ consider to hat extent it is realistic 23 at present expresona, especially on the question of evacuntion. "e woul be grateful therefore if you could arrange for the Directive to be exuminud with a view to its reviciba if necessary.
