In accordance with the instructions of the Chief of the Defence Staff, we have examined a report by the British

¡£ Defence Co-ordination Committee (Far East) on the practica- bility of the defence of Hong Kong in a nuclear context..

2. We have consulted the Foreign Office and the Colonial Office. Our report is at Annex.

Recommendation

3. We recommend that, if they approve our report, the Chiefs of Staff should take note of the BDCC(FE) report.
