Anglo-American policies permitting co-operation

in planning for the defence of Hong Kong.

Both the United Kingdom and United States Governments

are prepared to see nuclear weapons used in the

defence of the Colony.

They further recommended that H.M.G should recoguise The need to reinforce the United Kingdom garrison

before an attack developed, should be recognised.

The B.D.C.C.E.) further recommended that if the above considerations could be confirmed, then the Chiefs of Staff should accept the concept for planning purposes as the only one practicable for the defence of Hong Kong.
