3. (Special) The savage and provocative acts recently committed by the liongkong British Government in deporting eight patriotic Chines8 literary and movie workers and in allowing the remnants of Chiang's bandits to create disturbances at our border areas have already aroused profound indignation ariong the people of all circles of South China. A strong protest has been issued jointly by the various democratic parties in Canton and South China.

We have to point out that these acts of violence committed by the Hongkong Government are part of the premeditated actions taken by the British imperialists in co- ordination with the U.S. imperialists' policy of aggression and

· armament. More shameless still is their collusion with the remnants of Chiang Kai-shek's bandits. The Hongkong British Government, on the one hand, guve shelter and protection to the bandit remnants that have been driven from the mainland by the Chinese people, fed those killers and ruffians with money collected from the Hongkong residents in the form of taxes and duties and instigated them to create disturbances at our border areas. On the other hand, the Hongkong British Government has become more frantic and nore overt in its efforts to persecute our patriotic fellow-countrymen in Hongkong, threatening their rights of existence and the security or lives in order to undermine their movements of patriotism.

"We have therefore to raise the strongest protest against such acts of atrocity on the part of the Hongkong British Govern- ment. We solemnly warn the liongkong British Government that the liberated people of China can no longer be scared by any frantic provocations of dying imperialism. We will consider seriously what effective steps we should take to protect the peoper rights of our fellow-countrymen. The Hongkong British Government should be held fully responsible for any consequences that may result from its shameless acts of atrocity."
