again on certain specific matters raised in the public con enta of #ra. Elliott.

It has not been altogether easy to identify the instances of alleged lack of consideration. But, as you will see from the enclosed mesorazdum, which I hope you will find helpful, the Goverzor boa been at great pains to investigate these allegatio:m thoroughl”.

I mentioned in my earlier letter that prenant policies on squatter clearance, resettle ent and low- cost housing were being re-amazåned, The report of the working party concerned has been aompleted and eznained by the Urban Couzell, and is now being considered by the Hong Kong GoverizerĖ, I have seen a cogy and it is, in my opinion, a comprehensive and therough report, providing a useful basis for dealing with the problems that have been so seriously aggravated by the great influx of immigranta în 1962.
