Another point worthy of mention is that by a Cabinet decision the British Infantry Battalion in the West Indies is kept at the Colonial, not at the Higher, establishment, until the Barbados detachment is finally moved to St. Lucia.
The Colonial Defence Committee submit that decided action should be taken towards removing to 'St. Lucia the portion of the garrison now at Barbados, and that accommodation for the General Officer Commanding and Staff should be provided at St. Lucia.
2. The General Officer Commanding Barbados in his covering letter requests permission to transfer to St. Lucia the two 40-pr. R.B.L. guns which form part of the movable armament of Barbados. The Colonial Defence Committee concur in this proposal, and recommend that the transfer of these two guns should be sanctioned.
