WAR CABINET,
CHIEFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE.
A. A. AMMUNITION EXPENDITURE.
Report by the Deputy Chiefs of Staff Sub-Committee.
andum
The Chiefs of Staff at their Meeting held on
1st March, 1940, had before them a Memorandum
by the Chief of the Imperial General Staff, on the
subject of A.A. ammunition expenditure. It was agreed
that the Memorandum should be referred to the Deputy
Chiefs of Staff Sub-Committee for detailed examination
and report.
20
We endorse the general conclusion in the Memorandum
that a lesser overall provision of A.A. ammunition is
sion
acceptable and we consider that the existing production
should prove adequate for our requirements.
3c
We have no criticism of the previous over-estimate
of requirements, which has happily resulted in the installation or sufficient production to meet our actual
needs.
40
We endorse the conclusions and recommendations in
paragraphs 5 and 6 of the Memorandum;
and we recommend
that the position should be reviewed in, say, six months'
time.
