Note by the Secretary.

The attached telegram, has been agreed

between the General Staff and the Air Staff for despatch

to Commanders-in-Chief in the Middle East in reply to

their telegram of the 27th February to the Chiefs of

Staff.

In view of the urgency of the matter this

telegram was despatched on the evening of Saturday,

2nd March, in anticipation of the formal concurrence

of the Chiefs of Staff Committee.
