An A. A. Brigade consisting of:

Brigade Headquarters

One Regiment Heavy A. A. of Three Btys. (24 guns) One Battery Light A.A. of 4 Troops (16 guns) One G.0.R,

Four Sections R.D.F. G/Lo

can immediately be formed from the R. M. personnel of the A.A. Units of the L.N.B.D.O. now in Egypt. A certain number of remnants of the balance of the A. A. Brigade are available in Egypt who could be used as first reinforcements There are also a certain number of R.M. personnel principally trained as Coast Defence gunners, now in Ceylon, who might if necessary be trained for further reinforcements.

3.

It will be recalled that the M.N.B.D.O. was originally despatched to the Middle East to be at the disposal of the Commander-in-Chief, Mediterranean, in conjunction with the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Middle East, for the provision of defences to meet new Fleet requirements. At the time there was a possibility of defended bases being required for the Fleet in the treek Islands and possibly Turkish waters.

4.

When consideration was given to the despatch of this force it was also agreed that by positioning the M.N.B.D.O. in the Middle East they would be available for reinforcements to the Far East or the provision of new defended bases in event of war with Japan.
