RAIDS.

DIRECTIVE TO COMMANDER IN CHIEF, HOME FORCES.

You are authorised to carry out raids on the French,

Belgian and Dutch coasts. Such raids are to be limited

for the time being, to those which can be carried out

using assault landing craft only, with or without M,Ls.,

M.T.Bs., or M.G.Bs. Raids for which the use of an

Infantry Assault Ship is necessary will be the

responsibility of the Adviser on Combined Operations.

2.

You will work throughout in the closest co-operation

with the Adviser on Combined Operations and will arrange

to keep him informed of all details at all stages. He

will keep you informed about raids which he proposes to

carry out on their coasts,

You should continue to deal direct with the Naval

and Royal Air Force authorities concerned, keeping the

Admiralty and Air Ministry informed through the Naval and

R.A.F. Liaison Officers of your staff, You should keep

the Chiefs of Staff informed of the raids you propose to

carry out.
