Following from Chiefs of Staff.
Commander-in-Chief, Malta, has asked for urgent reinforcements by two British infantry battalions.
2.
Please arrange for despatch from Middle East as
soon as practicable.
3.
Battalion transport modified scale as in W.0. Telegram 96584 of 27/10 to Commander-in-Chief, Middle East, repeated Commander-in-Chief, Malta, can follow at first opportunity but very desirable that bicycles and carriers should accompany troops.
Malta state that transport can be extemporised there pending arrival of vehicles.
