On 12th July, 1940, the Prime Minister directed that a Weekly Report upon the progress and condition of foreign contingents in the United Kingdom should be furnished to the War Cabinet by the Chiefs of Staff (C.0.S.(40)546).
2.
Since that date Weekly Reports from the three Service Departments have been collated, and approved by the Chiefs of Staff before submission to the War Cabinet.
3.
The Prime Minister has now directed that this Progress Report shall be submitted monthly instead of weekly and it is therefore requested that Departmental reports covering the month of October, 1940, may be sent to me by Wednesday, 6th November, 1940, and subsequently by the 6th of each month, for collation and circulation to the War Cabinet.
