BRITISH-DUT CH-AMERICAN TECHNICAL CONVERSATIONS.
Note by the Secretary.
The following Conclusions* of the Chiefs of Staff Committee were submitted to the Prime Minister who has approved the action proposed.
2.
THE COMMITTEE:
(a) Agreed to recommend that the Foreign Office should approach the Dutch authorities in London, in the manner suggested by Mr. Hull, and ask them to enter into an exchange of information in London and Singapore,
(b) Agreed to recommend that the Foreign
Office should instruct Lord Lothian to suggest to the United States Government that the exchange of information should be continued in Washington on the technical level, and that we should unobtrusively send officers for the purpose from here. The United States Government should be asked to approach the Dutch to secure the presence of their representatives at the talks.
The Foreign Office have been informed and have been asked to take the necessary action.
