the bay, but no port facilities whatsoever.

The land-locked harbour of Berehaven is suitable for a large number of vessels, but there are no port facilities. At the head of the bay off Bantry there is another good anchorage, but once again no port facilities. There are small quays at Bantry, Berehaven and Glengarif.

All provide sheltered anchorages in a greater or lesser degree, but none have any port facilities other than a few small quays suitable for puffers.

Suitable for fleet anchorage but port facilities are There is a 300 foot wharf at Foynes with a depth alongside of 25 feet.

There is another pier at Kilrush on the north side of the river which is suitable for coasting vessels.

LIMERICK Harbour is narrow and shallow, but spring tides rise as much as 19 feet, thus enabling vessels that can ground to discharge at the city. Extensive quays with cranes and a deepwater dock.

Sheltered anchorage - with a small wet dock at Galway Harbour with depth of 17 feet. Connected to the railway system.
