A weapon which can well be used to increase the density of fire round important factorios is the U.P. weapon, which will begin to be produced in quantity within a few weeks. It is understood that 2,500 of these weapons will be available by the middle of August. In view of their great value in present circumstances it is suggested that every possible acceleration should be made in the provision of equipment and ammunition, even by a few days.
CONCLUSIONS.

I ask my colleagues to endorse the proposals of + Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Fighter Command, set forth in Appendices "A" and "B" to this note.
2. (a) Immediate consideration should be given to the placing of priority orders for a further 1,500 searchlight equipments.
(2) The production programme for the U.P. weapon should immediately be accelerated in every possible way.
