Raw Materials for Industry.

Ferro-alloys and metals and other raw materials shown in Appendix I would be of great value to us. and as much as possible should be shipped to the United Kingdom. Every effort should be made to prevent rav materials, which it is not possible to remove, from falling into the hands of the enemy, by destroying or hiding them.
Diamond Dies.
21.
Commercial diamonds should be collected and sent to the United Kingdom. In view of their importance in aircraft production and the electrical industry, it is essential that diamond dies in France, diamond drilling equipment and the skilled diamond drillers concentrated in the Lyons area, WA number some 250, should be moved out to the United Kingdom.
Machine Tools.
22. Any available machine tools already removed from the region, or which can be removed from other regions, should be sent to port in the south-west of France or to Mediterranean ports for shipment to the United Kingdom or the French colonial ports. particular as many as possible of the tools shown in Appendix II should be secured.
In
French Colonial Possessions.
23. The French should be urged to despatch at once a secret message to their local authorities overseas urging them to continue to co-operate with British forces regardless of any possible terms to which the Government of France may be compelled to agree under duress.
Secret Technical Equipment and Documents.
24.
The French have already been asked to remove or destroy secret equipment and documents. This point should be stressed, and particular emphasis laid on the need for preventing R. D. F. and asdics from falling into enemy hands, French translations of British secret papers must be systematically destroyed.
