TRADING WITH THE ENEMY.
THE PRIME MINISTER said that he wished to call attention to a correction which he had made to the second conclusion arrived at in the discussion at the previous meeting on the Report of the Sub-Committee on Trading with the Enemy. In the proof of the Minutes as circulated after the meeting this conclusion was drafted to read :-
2. In order to bring the greatest possible economic pressure upon Germany in a war in which the British Empire in alliance with France and Russia is opposed to the Triple Alliance, it is essential that the Netherlands and Belgium should be compelled to declare at the outset to which side in the struggle they will adhere.”
