Appoint- nient of visitors of
pauper lunatic asylums.
As to Powers of County Council in relation to Lunatio Asylum.
70. On or before the
day of
the county council of each county shall, in cases where the justices in quarter sessions assembled have hitherto appointed justices as a committee or a portion of a com- 5 mittee of visitors of any pauper lunatic asylum within the jurisdic- tion of such county council, appoint a like number of their body to be such committee or portion of a committee of visitors; and in every subsequent year, such county council shall make similar appointments of a committee of visitors or portion of a committee 10 of visitors of any such asylum.

A county council shall also, on or after the day of casual vacancies which may occur in any committee or portion of committee of visitors so appointed by them.

A county council may, if they think fit, in any year subsequent to the year
change the time of the year at which appointments may be made under this section; and in case of any such change, the existing visitors shall retain their offices until their successors are appointed, 20 although the period for which the existing visitors may thus hold, their offices may thereby become somewhat greater or less than a
year.
The committees of visitors and portions of committees of visitors appointed in any county by a county council in the year
shall enter on their offices
in the month of

on such day as may be agreed upon between the county council and the justices of the county in quarter sessions assembled or, in case of disagreement, shall be determined by the Local 80 Government Board.
On and after the time at which committees of visitors or portions of committes of visitors appointed by a county council in pursuance of this section enter on their offices in the year
, the power of the justices in quarter 35 sessions assembled to appoint committees of visitors or portions of committees of visitors of pauper lunatic asylums shall cease.
