Withdrawal of the Third Flotilla.

7 . The Cabinet had before them telegrams

circulated at the request of the First Sea Lord

of the Admiralty (Paper G.P.-196 (28)), from the

Naval Commander-in-Chief asking for the withdrawal

of the Third Flotilla from China.

The First Lord proposed to agree to this

request on the understanding that, if necessary,

before the moss-

another Flotilla would be sent out when the water

is low.

The Cabinet authorised the First Lord of the Admiralty to inform the Naval Commander-in-Chief that his proposal for the withdrawal

of the Third Flotilla from China was sanctioned unless Sir Reginald Tyrwhitt had altered his view as a consequence of the present position in North China.
