In the course of the discussion referred

to in the preceding Minute, the Secretary of

State for Home Affairs asked the Cabinet to

consider the desirability of introducing the

Children Bill in the coming Session of

Parliament.

The suggestion was made that it might

be wiser to keep this particular measure of

social reform until after the next General

Election. The Prime Minister asked the

Home Secretary to raise the matter at the

Committee of Home Affairs.
