10. The Cabinet had before them a Note by the Secretary of State for India (Paper 0.P.-215 (28)) covering a telegram to the Viceroy in regard to a movement which is being conducted in the Bardoli Taluka, Bombay Presidency, for the non-payment of taxes as a protest against the re-assessment of

revenue in that area,

The Secretary of State for India informed

the Cabinet that he was about to circulate further

correspondence on this important question. In the

meanwhile he was neglecting no step for dealing with the situation, and he asked his colleagues to

leave the matter in his hands.
