ORDERS TO CORPS AS TO PROCEDURE ON MOBILIZATION.

(i.)—Royal Garrison Artillery.

1. In accordance with Garrison Order No. manding companies will at once complete all necessary arrangements for the detailing of the various detachments under their commands which have been allotted to Sections of Defence, as laid down in the regimental distribution tables. The detach- ments detailed therein should be brought up to strength by drafts from the men allotted to the reserve.

2. Officers Commanding detachments proceeding to different Sections of the Defence will detail an escort of 1 officer and 6 non-commissioned officers and men to attend at the Ordnance Office to assist in drawing the field equipment and ammuni- tion for their detachment and escorting it to his Section of Defence. The hour at which this equipment will be issued will be notified by the officer acting as Camp Adjutant to the Section of Defence, to whom they will report themselves at the Ordnance Office.

Requisitions for rations will be sent in daily by the O.C. accounting units, to which the details at the work belong, to the O.C. Section of the Defence by 10 A.M.

Requisitions for fuel and light required for men under canvas will be included in ration indent.

The cooking accommodation in Out Forts will be utilized as far as possible for men encamped near forts.

One day's cooked rations will be carried by all ranks in their haversacks.

3. Dress Marching order, khaki, water-bottles filled.

50 rounds of ball ammunition per carbine, and 24 rounds of pistol ammunition per pistol, will be carried in pouches, and will be drawn at once from Quartermasters, any deficiency will be made up by Officers Commanding Section of the Defence on arrival at Sections. Officers Commanding detachments will notify at once the number of rounds required to their Section Commanders on arrival.

4. No requisitions for transport are required.

Coolies for the carriage of baggage and equipment in regimental charge will be supplied at the barracks and will be distributed by the Quartermaster.

Baggage will be strictly limited to 120-lb. per officer and 40-lb. per man. Officers Commanding companies will be held responsible that these amounts are not exceeded.

5. Each Officer Commanding a detachment will detail, in addition to the escort mentioned in paragraph 2, an escort of 1 N.C.O. and 6 men to act as baggage guards for the safe conveyance of the baggage to the Forts or Section Headquarters as the case may be. The escorts should be warned not to allow any coolies to desert, and they will be in charge of the coolies until taken over by the Camp Adjutant of the Section, or, in the case of fort detachments, until orders are received from the Officer Commanding the Section of Defence as to their disposal.

6. All baggage should be stored in front of barrack rooms separately by detach- ments proceeding to different Sections of the Defence, under the charge of the escorts detailed in the preceding paragraph, ready for removal on arrival of the coolies. Every care should be taken that the baggage does not get mixed.

7. All detachments will parade at o'clock (to-morrow morning) in front of their barrack rooras, and will proceed to their sections as under, moving in the order named:
