CHAPTER V.

ORDERS TO CORPS AS TO PROCEDURE ON MOBILIZATION.

Immediately on receipt of orders to mobilize, the following General Order, and Instructions which are kept ready prepared by the D.A.A.G. (A), will be at once issued to all concerned.

189 . The garrison will be mobilized for the defence of the Colony, all concerned immediately taking the prearranged steps for works, transport, supplies, issues of ammunition and stores, &c.

By direction of his Excellency

Governor and Commander- in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies, &c., and in accordance with clause 2, section 189, of the Army Act, the Colonial Auxiliary Forces, namely, the Hong Kong Volunteer Corps, will from this date be temporarily subject to the Army Act, and shall be deemed to be on active service for a period of three months, or such other lesser period as his Excellency the Governor and Commander-in-Chief may command.

1. Immediately on receipt of the order to mobilize you are to order the Senior Officer of each Section detachment to at once report to his Section Commander, and to notify such Commander where he can be found at all hours, until the troops are actually mobilized in the Section.

2. The ammunition required to complete will at once be drawn from the A.O.D. and Commanding Officers will ensure that no detachments from their commands moves off without its full complement of ammunition.

3. All land and water transport will be provided without requisition.

4. If the garrison is mobilized in the morning Sections will be rationed by corps, and if they mobilize after the dinner hour they will also be rationed the following day by their corps. Subsequently all rations will be drawn and accounted for by Officers Commanding Sections.

5. The troops will move off to their Sections in the following order :-
