Arrangements have been made for an officer of the Army Ordnance Corps to visit all posts over storehouses and magazines. A subordinate will be kept in attendance at each magazine and storehouse by day and night so long as considered necessary to meet sudden requirements.
(H.)-Action by Army Pay Department.
1. Money would be raised in the same manner as in time of peace; there would be no difficulty in obtaining any amount, as trade would be suspended, and the banks would be glad to get Government bills for dollars.
2. The Officers and Clerks of the Army Pay Department would be available to a great extent for employment on special duties at the discretion of the General in command.
