1. Would be replied to by the 10-inch guns, assisted by that of other batteries.

2. Would have to be met by Section XII and the Kowloon Reserve. 3. The gunners would man the parapets armed with their carbines. Additional Works.-Wire entanglements would be laid on the glacis. This would be laid on the first day, and would be done by fifteen men of the Hong Kong Regiment from the Reserve, under supervision of three N.C.O.'s and men of the Royal Engineers.

A mat-shed would be erected within the battery by the Royal Engineer Contractor for the garrison.

Engineer District. This section is, with Sections XI and XII, in the D Engineer district, under the general Engineer supervision of Lieutenant Matheson, R.E.

Tools.-The tools required are enumerated in Schedule XVIII (3), and will be issued with the camp equipment.
