Camp Equipment and Stores.-The camp equipment, stores, and tools required for use in the section are enumerated in the annexed Schedules XVII (7) and XVIII (7). All the articles are kept separate by the S.0.8.0., ready for immediate issue, and on mobilization will be sent straight to the head-quarters of the section by means of transport to be provided by the O.C.A.S.C., without requisition. The Section Commander will receive the stores on the ground, and will sign the customary receipt vouchers.
Reinforcement in case of Attack. If attacked, the troops of Nos. VI and VIII Sections will co-operate as far as possible, and reinforcements of infantry and artillery may be sent from the Victoria Reserve in about an hour by the Magazine Gap, and possibly from the Kowloon Reserve by launch to McGregor Pier, and thence by the Wanchai Gap.
Communications. The upper road from Mount Gough by Magazine Gap to Wanchai Gap forms a good communication along the rear, while the road by the sea-shore gives good communication along the front. The Aberdeen- Wanchai Road, crossing the section diagonally from the right front to the left rear, is also useful,
These are supplemented by many small tracks, which would require to be improved.
The main roads along front and rear also give communication with the sections on the flanks, while the roads by Magazine Gap and Wanchai Gap afford easy communication with the Reserve.
A brigade signalling station at Magazine Gap communicates with the Sanitarium, Scandal Point, Kowloon West, and Kowloon North. Another brigade signalling station exists on Bennet's Hill, in the block-house B 6, and communicates with the following stations, viz.: B 4, B 5, Sanitarium, and Wong- nei-Chong Gap. There is a telephone to Victoria in the Aberdeen Police Station.
Method of Supply: Ammunition.-The complement of ammunition for the guns of this section is 200 rounds per howitzer. These will be delivered by hired transport at the position assigned for the battery, and will be stored in a field magazine, which will be built for its accommodation if proper magazine accommodation has not in the meantime been supplied.
Small-arm Ammunition.-On marching out, all ranks carry in their pouches 100 rounds per Lee-Metford rifle, and 20 rounds per carbine. An additional 100 rounds per rifle and carbine is dispatched by hired transport to the section as a first reserve. This reserve should always be kept up, and requisitions on the O.S.D. should be furnished accordingly.
Food.-Rations for Europeans will be issued daily from the A.S.C. head- quarters at 4 A.M., and will be escorted to the section by parties from the
