Appendix VI.

Regulation of Traffic.

On the outbreak of war the traffic will be confined to the friendly channel on the Belcher side of the western entrance and to the Lyemun Pass, pilots being specially engaged by the Harbour-master, and no ships to come in without a special pilot.

Vessels will be warned to anchor inside Green Island, or under the guns of Lyemun Redoubt, until boarded by a pilot.

Sailing-vessels and junks will be towed in by launches specially told off for the purpose, and with a pilot on board.

Buoys will be laid down to mark the friendly channel, and other buoys to deceive as to its position.
