Instructions regarding Stores and Attendance of Steamers.

1. The Commander of His Majesty's ship "Tamar" is responsible that all stores, offices, &c., mentioned in these instructions will be available when required, and on the examination service being put into force, he will hand them over to the Chief Examining Officer. (Paragraph 26, H.K. Traffic Regulations.)

2. The steamers will be provided with coal and water from the Naval Yard, Kowloon, where a supply of coal in I cwt. bags will be stored for this purpose.

3. One launch from each examination station will be sent in every day to coal and

water.

4. The naval ratings employed in the examination service are to be placed on compensation. The Commander of "Tamar" will arrange to have emergency rations stored in "Tamar" for use should they be required.

5 The civilians (European and Chinese) will provide their own food.
