21. Fresh provisions will be sent over daily from "Tamar.”

22. Coal will be brought to the "Wivern" for "Taku" by lighter, and by a party of 8 coolies from the coal sheds to the torpedo-boats.

23. Water can be obtained in the camber.

24. It must be clearly understood that torpedo craft and submarines will not be allowed to enter the harbour at night.

You will impress this on all concerned, so that in the event of the O.C. Torpedo- boat Flotilla being disabled no attempt will be made by a subordinate to pass the entrance, but the torpedo-boat or submarine should proceed to Aberdeen if necessary, and report to the Senior Officer present.

25. Before sunset each night the torpedo-boat flotilla will be on its line of patrol.

26. The boats will be assigned to various beats by the Senior Officer of the

Flotilla.

27. Four boats will patrol between Aberdeen and Beacon Light to north of Chung Island.

28. The fifth boat, if available, will be in reserve at Aberdeen.

NOTE. For ratings required for torpedo-boat flotilla see Table on page 174.

Orders for Commissioning Torpedo Craft on receipt of " Warning" Telegram.

1. The Marines in "Tamar" except those specially detailed in Mobilization Scheme will form a working party.

2. This working party, and the crews of the torpedo-boats, are to be at once sent over to Kowloon in "Tamar's" steamboats.

3. Provisions are stored at Kowloon Depôt.

4. The crews are to draw torpedoes, &c., then provisions and mess traps.

5. The marine working party to complete boats with coal and water.

6. Steam is to be raised as soon as possible.

7. The Commander of "Tamar" to supervise all work.

8. Lieutenant (T) is to fit Whitehead pistols.

9. As soon as complete at Kowloon, the boats are to steam over to the Ordnance Wharf, with Marine working party on board. The crews will draw ordnance stores.

10. The Marines draw medicine chests from the R.N. Hospital under the super- vision of the Junior Surgeon of "Tamar."

11. The Officers Commanding draw charts from the K.H.M's. office.
