CHAPTER IV.

* Native Officers.

4. Quartering.-R.G.A. in forts. The H.K.S.B.R.G.A. manning the west and east forts will be encamped in the forts.

The Native Infy. outposts will be under canvas or in mat-sheds on the hills. The remainder of the troops will be encamped near the rifle range at the junction of the roads to Grasscutters and Shatin Passes.

5. Communications.---The Section is in telephonic communication from Kowloon City Police Station with Headquarter Office. There are also (when completed) permanent offices at Eagle's Nest, Shatin Pass, Tate's Cairn, Customs House Pass, and at the camp on the rifle range. Information north of Tai-Po would be telephoned from the police stations on the Northern Frontier. Further communication would be kept up by visual signalling.

6. Ammunition.-Gun ammunition is issued at the rate of 500 rounds

per gun to all guns, except 10-in, and 9-2-in. 250 rounds per gun, and Maxims have 11,000 rounds per gun.
