nition and issue the balance to the Maxim guns in equal proportions, and at once indent on the Ordnance Department for the amount required to complete the ammuni- tion for the Maxim guns.
He will also indent on the Ordnance Department for the 1st and 2nd Reserve ammunition.
3. All men are to remain in the neighbourhood of the barracks, ready to fall in at
a moment's notice.
4. In the event of being called out, men's kits will be limited to 40 lb. per man, and officers' baggage to 200 lb. per officer (including camp equipage).
5. In the event of the whole regiment being called out, all baggage and stores left behind will be stored by double cos. in the Quartermaster's Stores, and a guard of 1 n.c.o. and 6 men, which will also act as regimental Quarter Guard, mounted over them.
6. The following Garrison guards will be furnished, and will proceed to their respective guards forthwith, and relieve those at present on duty.
They will be visited daily by the British officer of the day.

NOTE. The Garrison Sergeant-Major will point out to the Commanders of Guards the position of all new posts.
7. Bandsmen and all men on regimental employ will at once join their double cos., the rifles and accoutrements of men sick in hospital being issued to bandsmen under double co. arrangements.
8. The trained signallers of the regiment are placed at the disposal of the Brigade Signalling Officer.
(viii.)-Hong Kong Volunteer Corps.
1. In accordance with Garrison Order No.
of to-day's date, all units will parade at
o'clock at headquarters, and, except "E" Co., proceed by route march to Mount Austin Barracks, the headquarters of No. II Section of the Defence, to which they are allotted.
In the event of any member of the corps being unable to attend the parade, they will proceed as soon as possible to Mount Austin Barracks and report themselves to the C.O. of their unit, who will report their arrival to the Commandant for the information of the O.C. the Section.
The members of "E" Co. will proceed as quickly as possible to Wellington Barracks, where the O.C. will receive his further orders from the O.C.S.M. Co., "E" Co. being attached to the R.E. on mobilization for discipline and rations.
2. Marching order, khaki drill, helmets, putties, haversacks, and water-bottles filled, belts, and side-arms, and one day's cooked rations to be carried in the haversack.
3. 100 rounds of ball ammunition per rifle, 50 rounds per carbine, and 24 rounds of pistol ammunition by officers and staff-sergeants to be carried in pouches, and 5,500 with each Maxim.
The ammunition and any arms not already in possession of members of the corps will be issued at headquarters on parade.
