1. The Asia Society Hong Kong Centre near Admiralty, opened in February as a centre for arts, culture and contemporary affairs, blends new structures with former military buildings, some of which were used for storing explosives. The munitions tracks can still be seen.

2. The restaurant of the Tai O Heritage Hotel, opened in February, now sits atop what was Tai O Police Station on Lantau Island.

3. Woodside in Tai Tam Country Park, originally built as a residence for senior staff of the Taikoo Sugar Refinery, was opened as the Biodiversity Education Centre in June.
