The Financial Secretary meets the Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, Mr Luis Miguel Castilla, who is visiting Hong Kong with a delegation of Peruvian officials and business leaders seeking business ties with Hong Kong.

The Secretary for Development, Mr Mak Chai-kwong, resigns over allegations relating to housing allowance claims when he was a civil servant. He is subsequently replaced by former Legislative Council member, Mr Paul Chan Mo-po, on 30 July.

The Trade Descriptions (Unfair Trade Practices) (Amendment) Ordinance 2012 is enacted by the Legislative Council, creating new offences targeting common unfair trade practices such as misleading omissions and 'bait-and-switch' tactics.
