Notes:

(1) Figures presented in statistical appendices refer to those released up to the end of April 2012. Readers who would like to obtain current statistical information on Hong Kong may visit the 'Hong Kong Statistics' section of the Census and Statistics Department's website (www.censtatd.gov.hk). The section is regularly updated and it also provides hyperlinks to relevant government websites for facilitating retrieval of other official statistics of Hong Kong. (2) There may be a slight discrepancy between the sum of individual items and the total as shown

in the tables due to rounding.

Special Note:

**

A Population Census was conducted in June to August 2011. The results of the 2011 Population Census provided a benchmark for revising the population figures compiled since the 2006 Population By-census. Population figures from end-2006 to mid-2011 have been revised accordingly. Similarly, other statistics involving the use of the population figures in the compilation process have also been revised to take into account the results of the 2011 Population Census.
