Cultural and Natural Heritage
The ever-popular Cheung Chau Jiao Festival, a cultural heritage event commemorated on Cheung Chau Island to pay tribute to the god Pak Tai, draws thousands of visitors every year. Major events include (right) a race up a bun tower in which contestants scramble for the buns to get the highest score; and (above) a colourful parade featuring children. dressed as historical or household figures carried shoulder high on specially designed wire frames.
