Starting from the reference year of 2009, statistics on GDP by economic activity are compiled based on Hong Kong Standard Industrial Classification Version 2.0. Besides, the valuation of value added has been changed from factor cost to basic prices to follow international standard. As a result of these statistical developments, the series of the GDP by economic activity has been revised and backcasted to 2000.
