Like many parts of the world, Hong Kong is experiencing changeable weather patterns. Globally, 2008 was the 10th warmest year on record although the average

temperature in Hong Kong was slightly lower than in previous years. The year in Hong Kong also saw the longest cold spell for 40 years and rainfall was 29 per cent above normal. October was

the warmest since records began in 1884.
