Notes: Figures in brackets refer to percentage changes over the same period of the preceding year.

(1) As from the first quarter of 2007, the Business Receipts Index for each service industry/domain is derived using the year 2005 as the base period (i.e. taking the average of the total business receipts in the four quarters of 2005 as 100). To facilitate comparison, Business Receipts Indices for all service industries/domains prior to the first quarter of 2007 have been re-based to 2005.

(2) A service domain differs from a service industry in that it comprises those economic activities straddling across different industries but are somehow related to a common theme. For instance, tourism includes all activities of all hotels and travel agents; and some (those involving visitors as customers) but not all of the activities of restaurants, retailers and transport operators.

(3) Part of the data are obtained from the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
