Land Registration
Land Registration is essential to Hong Kong's social and economic development. The Land Registry provides a comprehensive service for registering documents affecting land and keeping land records for public inspection. Over 2.7 million registers and 17 million documents can be accessed electronically. The table below shows the registry's business volume in 2006.

Work is continuing on the setting up of a title registration system. During the year, the registry reviewed the Land Titles Ordinance and consulted the relevant stakeholders. Work also started during the year
during the year on developing information technology systems to facilitate title registrations.
