Hong Kong hailed the success of China's first manned space flight in October. Large crowds turned out to greet the Delegation of the First Manned Space Mission when it made a six-day visit to Hong Kong two weeks after the epic flight. Left: the delegation, with spaceman Colonel Yang Liwei in the centre, being welcomed at the airport by the Financial Secretary, Mr Henry Tang, on October 31; and Colonel Yang with the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, at a reception at Government House later in the evening. Above: enthusiastic well-wishers greeting Colonel Yang at Government House.
